Sketch number 1 of 5!
I have a real special spot in my heart for Metal Sonic. As I’ve said before in past posts, my first issue of Sonic the Hedgehog was number 25 which featured Metal Sonic and I never got to play Sonic CD as a kid so I dreamed for years of what the game was like with the super cool Metal Sonic design.
Although I’m not a fan of the Olympic Mario Sonic team up games, I do think they created some fantastic character promo images and I think its a very exciting to have Metal Sonic as a character choice.
Hey great, thanks a ton for the responses and I’m looking forward to drawing this stuff up. Some fun characters have been chosen so this ought to be a blast! I’ll post up scans here to show them off as I complete them.
I’ve also included a scan of a whole different type of sketch in progress. I’m working towards a future where I could draw some Marvel Adventures comics. I’m way out of practice in drawing super heroes and I’m currently in the middle of finding how I would want to be drawing the Avengers. Here’s a start-
The Avengers line up changes all over the place. Where I’m currently working from the team includes Invisible Woman which I think is pretty fun.
Here’s my pencils although I haven’t actually seen the inked and colored versions for these two strips. Its a lot of fun to see the end result and how different they are from what I would do. In some cases I’m not certain myself what I would do in the color stage but I think Paul made some great choices in the first two Off-Panel strips and I expect to see more of the same.
Lets try something out, mainly for my own personal enjoyment. For the first, I don’t know… five people we’ll say, who respond to me I’ll draw a Sonic character sketch for free. We’ll do it like this-
-You name the character you want, it has to be an official character from the games or the comic. (Links to any reference if its not a main character would be tremendously helpful!)
-I’ll email you a high res scan of the sketch, you could then print it. If you want the physical copy thats cool too but then we’d have to get into five dollars for shipping.
