Yesterday, Sunday the 15th, I attended the Portland Comic Convention as an exhibitor making it my first convention. I found out a week prior that I would have a table so it was a mad dash to continue working on my first professional comics work as well as gather whatever I could for display. In the end, I only had five copies of part 1 of the ‘Revolution: Dream- Great New Life’ mini series out on the table. Next time I’d like to prepare far in advance and have a colorful selection available.
Fortunately my table was shared with Ben Dewey who brightened things up with his winning personality and superb artwork. People who stopped by got to see a sneak peek of an upcoming Marvel Adventures Spider-man that Ben is illustrating! This is his first work with Marvel following a story for Dark Horse you can read- HERE. (Check in November 2009 if you read this post anytime after this month. It’s written by the famous Jeff Parker!)
A number of people also got free sketches from Ben and I throughout the day. It was a ton of fun and I’m very glad to have gotten to do a bunch of drawing. It helped that I drew a number of my favorite characters! How could it get better?
Oh yeah, the print version of Revolution: Dream collected part 1 up to page 22 and had this for a cover.
