Alright this is it, the start of a new website. With some goals set, and a few achieved, there’s a lot for me to look forward to putting up here!
My ambition is to post a sketch Monday through Friday based on a weekly theme. My idea with this is primarily that it’ll let me draw a bunch of fun stuff and that I can put distinct theme guidelines on myself for quick and continued practice on a variety of topics, like architecture that I wouldn’t normally sit around and draw.
The next major goal is to produce one page a week of my Revolution: DREAM mini-series idea and have a full story accomplished (eventually) for the first time in a few years. Currently I’m building up a few pages so I can stay ahead of the posts and not throw myself straight into things. I look forward though to posting them as soon as possible.
Of course both of those goals won’t take the majority of the week so most of the time I’m going to be working on making 10 page mini-comics for storytelling purposes. Steve Lieber and Colleen Coover have told me that I should produce a few finished stories that display my current set of skills. I’ll focus on this heavily until I get some responses to participating in anthologies, the other aspect I have been told to accomplish. Which with the website now up I will be sending out e-mails to companies this week. From what I’ve learned an important part of becoming a professional comic artist is having a history of published work. I won’t get paid but I’m not in this for cadillacs and dinosaurs. It’ll be great just to be out there and have something to fill my barren cover letter.
Here we go!
